Why Mcgyverr Name

In the Military, Most service men and women receive nicknames. When your superiors want to talk to you for messing up, or for your certain skill, though you are called by your Rank.

Some examples: ("Scream" for someone who looses their temper often, "Rambo" for a tough person always at the gym, "Chucky" for someone who gets motion sick etc.) or something that just sticks to them as a name at some point in their Military career.

We don't choose our nick names, (at least I didn't) someone else does, most likely someone that out ranks you.

In 1985 I got the name McGyverr, around the time MacGyver, an American action-adventure television series was popular.

I would always try to do jobs that would take two or more people and try to figure a way to do it with one... on some occasions as Tank Turret technician, repairing the control and hydraulics systems in the turret section in Tanks, technicians would either not having the right tools, parts or just don't want to work.

When we had more jobs than manpower. My Sergeant would say

"Send MacGyver!..."

Now I don't work as a trouble shooter for the fictional 'Phoenix Foundation' in Los Angeles. I'm not Educated as a scientist with a background as a Bomb Team Technician/EOD in Vietnam ("Countdown"), and from a fictional United States government agency, the Department of External Services (DXS), who is used as a resourceful agent able to solve a range of problems along with his ever-present duct tape and Swiss Army knife, as Macgyver did in the series.

But I am an old school trouble shooter, who loves and uses duct tape and and yes i have Swiss Army knife, don't leave home without it.
